Pando Quartet - World Premiere
The Pyxis Quartet perform the World Premiere of Nancy’s new string quartet inspired by her residency with Friends of Pando. This concert is part of 45th Parallel Universe’s concert titled The Portland School II.

York Symphony Orchestra – Carmen Meets Beethoven: Immortal Beloved
The York Symphony’s upcoming concert, “Carmen Meets Beethoven,” features Nancy Ives’ Immortal Beloved, a powerful piece that reimagines one of classical music’s most enduring mysteries. Inspired by Beethoven’s impassioned letter to his unnamed muse, Ives gives voice to nine women—artists, muses, and visionaries—whose lives intertwined with Beethoven’s yet were largely silenced by history. Through lush orchestration and an expressive solo performance by Concertmaster Denise Dillenbeck on violin, Immortal Beloved transforms silence into song, reclaiming these women’s voices.
The program also includes Strauss’ graceful Roses from the South, Beethoven’s lively Overture to Fidelio, and the dramatic allure of Bizet’s Carmen Suites – creating an atmosphere that moves from lighthearted charm to profound rediscovery.

The program highlights women’s voices, including Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture, the heroic story of a woman’s daring quest to free her imprisoned husband, followed by Nancy’s work, exploring the mystery of the woman addressed in Beethoven’s impassioned “Immortal Beloved” letter.
Through lush orchestration, expressive solo writing, and meticulously embedded musical ciphers, Immortal Beloved gives voice to nine women—artists, muses, and visionaries—whose lives intersected with Beethoven’s, yet who have been largely silenced by history.
Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra – Concert IV: Immortal Beloved
The Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra presents Concert IV: Immortal Beloved, a program centered around Nancy Ives’ Immortal Beloved. Drawing inspiration from Beethoven’s mysterious letter to his unnamed muse, Nancy reclaims the voices of nine women whose lives intertwined with his, yet who were often silenced by history.
Through lush orchestration and an expressive performance by soloist Denise Dillenbeck on violin, Immortal Beloved explores the personal and political obstacles these women faced, while framing their stories as ones of resilience, creativity, and legacy.
The concert also features Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, creating a powerful pairing between reflection and renewal.

The concert’s centerpiece will be the Colorado premiere of Nancy Ives‘ brand new violin concerto, Immortal Beloved, featuring soloist Denise Dillenbeck.

Designed for flexible collaboration with Native performers, the work draws on both ancient and recent events that are emblematic of the great Columbia and the tribal nations whose ancestors first fished, gathered, and celebrated along its banks beginning more than 11,000 years ago.
Two performances, at 9:30am and 11:30am, as part of the Oregon Symphony’s Young People's Concert series.

Join Fear No Music in a unique lecture/performance experience, as the musicians deconstruct and de-mystify one or two works.
